About Me!
Lineage
I first started Terrorising EarthLings on June 25 1987 into a family of techies. My parents are both from bangalore, so I speak kannada (fairly) fluently, although my accent has been the butt of billions of jokes. My parents, uncles, aunts, etc... are all (unfortunately) into IT. Sometime n the distant past, my dad's family was full of lawyers and priests, and my mom's family as filled with coconut farmers
School
I went to a small school called NAFL in Basaveshwaranagar, Bangalore. I did my Tenth grade in a syllabus called IGCSE, mostly because I desperately wanted to drop non-tech subjects like history and geography (which I had a knack of not being able to memorise a word in). I did my 12th grade under the CBSE syllabus, with PCMC (the last C being computer science) as my subjects.
College
Currently, I am pusuing my BE in Computer Science in PESIT. I'm currently in 2nd year. There may be more on this later
Open Source
On Christmas 2004, I managed to Break my Windows Installation for the 100th Time. But this time, instead of reinstalling, I decided to boot into Knoppix, after which I installed Fedora Core on my Machine. Once I got into the whole linux/FOSS circuit, I just couldn't stop. I still use Fedora Core on my laptop, and CentOS on my desktop. I run this website on a Debian Box.I've tried to contribute code wherever I can, but still haven't made any major contributions. I have been a long time Fedora Ambassador, one of the first, in fact. I also try to help out the community by helping out at events like foss.in
I am fairly fluent in the following programming languages: Python / C / C++ / BASH / PHP pretty much in that order of preference. I especially love python because of it's LAZY syntax, and the philosophy that you shouldn't have to write code to do basic things.
